Reception Details
Our reception will be in the Parkview Room at 317 On Rice Park in downtown St Paul.

Flowers

LOVE our flowers!  We're staying in the ivory/petal pink/light peachy family.  My bouquet will have hydrangea, garden roses, spray roses, ranunculus, lisianthus blossoms, a little stephanotis, and a few imported peonies.

The BMs will have hydrangea, ranunculus, lisianthus blossoms, and spray roses.

We were originally going to do bouts for the guys, but I felt like they looked a little too "prom." So we're doing pocket squares instead.

Place Cards/Wine Labels

I came up with the idea of having our bottles of wine (guest favors) double as the escort cards. FI's dad makes homemade wine, and he volunteered to make 375mL bottles of pinot noir for all our guests.
I absolutely love these half-sized bottles of champagne (right), which BostonBride919 gave to each guest as a favor. Ours are wine instead of champagne, and ours won't have a "thank you" message -- they will have each guest's name and table number written in calligraphy.

We are using circle punches for the luxe blush name card. I found some awesome wine labels online; the adhesive doesn't set for 15 minutes, so you can move them around if they're crooked. I had a graphic designer put together a label for the wine bottles. She also designed our STDs and inserts, so the wine label has a similar design.

Head Table Place Cards

Our wedding party will also have the bottles of wine for their table assignment, but we're having assigned seats at the head table. So on each charger plate at the head table, we'll have these place assignments. I bought the corks from Etsy seller Gallery360. The names will all be written in calligraphy, like the rest of our table assignments on the wine bottles. I used a leftover slip from our invitations to create this mockup (below). For our wedding, each placecard will only have one name.

DIY Card Box

I have some leftover dupioni silk from something, so I decided to use it and take a stab at making a card box. Below are my inspiration pics, and to the right is the beginning of my card box. Each of the inspiration boxes sells for $55+ on Etsy. I quickly found that these are pretty easy to make! I'm almost done; I'm just waiting to complete the bow next time I'm in Minnesota, because my mom has a bow maker :)

I bought the hat box (11") from Michael's, and I got the dupioni silk ($$$!) from JoAnn Fabrics with a 40% off coupon from Michael's. (They honor competitor coupons.) I used 3M Spray Mount repositionable adhesive, which worked really well.

Guestbook

We had a calligrapher create a custom "marriage certificate" to serve as our guest book. It's similar to the traditional Quaker marriage certificate, or the Jewish ketubah.

We hired Etsy seller ArtfulCelebrations to make our certificate. After the wedding (when all of our guests have signed it), we'll frame it and hang it in our home. I hope it'll be a treasured family heirloom for generations to come :)

I had Etsy seller rubydollcreations create a custom feather pen (below and right) for our guestbook. It's such a cute touch!

Tall Centerpieces

These candelabra centerpieces will be on half of our guest tables, and we'll have two of them on our head table.

We'll be renting this gold candelabra (below left).

The flowers in the crystal candelabra were my inspiration for our tall centerpieces. Ours will be similar (but lighter pink) and with ivory ostrich feathers.

Table Numbers

I bought some frames online (below left) and found some others (right) at Home Goods. They were various colors, so I had to spray them all gold. I'll have a couple of extra ones, so I'll just put in some of our engagement pictures or something.

Dinner Menus

We are having menus at each setting. We are using Luxe Blush A9 cardstock from Paper Source, and the menus will be written in calligraphy by Calligraphy Katrina. (See example, below left.)

Memory Candles

FI and I have both lost 3 grandparents each. We're having a memory candle for each at our reception. I made these myself, using cylinder vases, vellum paper, gold ribbon, LED flameless tealights, and lots 'o' glue! I'm happy to share my "template" for the vellum paper -- just send me a message :)

We'll also have this sign (right) in the middle of the candles. My inspiration was the memory candles from BostonBride919's wedding (below).

Another Knottie asked me how I made my candles, so I typed out some directions. I've posted those here (the PDF), and I'm also including the Word document I used for the template. However, I used fonts that aren't on all computers, so it might look screwed up when you open it -- sorry! :)

Cake

This picture (below right) is the inspiration for our cake. Buttercream will be replicating the lace pattern on my dress, similar to the picture below. Except our cake will be all round tiers. We'll be using 5/8" Petal Peach satin ribbon around the base of each tier, underneath the lace piping details.

Our cake will have two different flavors: Bailey’s moistened devil’s food cake with chocolate Irish creme mousse on the bottom tier, and vanilla cake with rich pumpkin creme layers on the top two tiers.

We will be using a gold cake plateau (below) and gold servers (below).

Toasting Flutes

We're using toasting flutes that are Waterford crystal, in the retired "Pallas" pattern. I already own my grandmother's Pallas wine goblets, so I thought it would be nice to have more Pallas stemware. I'm a complete Waterford whore :)

Candy Buffet

In addition to giving each guest a bottle of pinot noir (with their place card), we'll have a candy buffet. We'll have a variety of yummy stuff in gold and in pink. YUM!  This picture was taken from BostonBride919, who used a similar color palette.

Photo Booth

Ok, so I guess we kind of have THREE guest favors! First is the half-sized bottles of wine, second is the candy buffet, and third is the photobooth! We're super excited about this one too! It's not something we originally planned on having, but I've heard rave reviews from pretty much everyone who booked it for their weddings! Guests get to keep their photostrip(s), and then the extra copy goes in our book, and they can write a message next to their pics :)

I ordered these vinyl bookmarks, so people can protect their photostrips that they take home. We're using this album for the pics and messages from everyone, and the Uniball Signo white pens works wonderfully on the black pages!

For the Kiddos

There will only be three kids at our wedding -- a toddler, a 4.5-year-old, and a 7.5-year-old. I bought a coloring book and sticker book for each of the two older girls, and all of them will get some healthy, organic snacks too: Cheddar Bunnies 1oz Snack Packs, Bunny Graham Friends 1oz Snack Packs, Clif Kid Organic Twisted Fruit, and Organic Valley 1% Chocolate Milk.
