I love sexy paper.
We're kind of going the DIY route for our invitations. We used Luxe Blush and Antique Gold paper, both from Paper Source.
Our calligrapher did our invitations and inserts. It's GORGEOUS, and a completely awesome touch. I wanted to keep our graphic elements somewhat simple, so the attention is focused on the beautiful calligraphy.
I also used ivory double faced satin ribbon to create belly bands and little "cards" of paper to serve as the "inner envelope." I love how they turned out! :) To mount everything, we used Scotch double-sided photo splits, which seemed to work pretty well! There was a lot of peeling and sticking involved, but they weren't messy at all, and they were pretty quick to work with.
FYI to DC brides: I hand-canceled all of our STDs and invitations at the Post Office inside Union Station, and it was no problem at all. I'd go there before work and kindly ask if I could hand-cancel them -- I'd offer to stamp them myself too. There is a woman named Nancy who's always super nice about it :) NOTE: It was the post office INSIDE Union Station, not the post office that's a block away, on the corner of North Capitol and Massachusetts Ave.

Calligraphy (addressing STDs and invitations)
These are the calligraphy fonts we used for our save the dates and our invitations. Our calligrapher did a good job with the addresses.
Save the Dates
Etsy seller Tulaloo created our STDs (below left) and inserts (below right), and I'm so happy with how they turned out! I purchased the graphic on istockphoto, so we can use it throughout our wedding. The STDs have been printed on large magnets from VistaPrint. I signed up for their promotional e-mails, and I got 100 magnets for $49.99! I chose the slow (21-day) shipping, but I had them in a week and a half! I had the accommodations inserts printed on Neenah Linen paper (Natural White), and they turned out beautifully.
Rehearsal Dinner Invitations
We're using these invitations -- from Paper Source -- for our rehearsal dinner. They don't really echo the feel of the rest of our wedding, which is kind of what we're going for. I think these invitations kind of capture the rustic feeling of our rehearsal dinner restaurant, which has Southwest cuisine and a rustic interior.
Thank You Notes
I'd love to use one of the pro pics from our wedding for our thank you notes, but I'm worried that it'll take too long for the pics to come back, and for me to create the cards and have them printed.
Instead, I'm going to make thank you cards from our photobooth pics! We will get a CD with all of the images about a week after our wedding, so that'll give me enough time to design the cards and have them printed. I'm going to order the cards from Vistaprint.
